Four Memories

Updated: Dec 28, 2019

In Your Absence

I miss you gently.

For that I am glad.

To feel any less

would leave me empty;

to feel any more,

would leave me sad.

You and I

You were the rock midstream

greeting my bubbling waters.

Though I could not stay with you,

with you I sang as I went by.

Letting Go

The wind blew your name to me,

a soft memory

causing only the curtains to flutter.

It brushed gently from one window,

through another,

and then flew free.

In Passing

We passed,

you and I,

as brown and crimson leaves

floating on the breeze,

skipping o'er the ground.

Perhaps,

in another season,

we could have lingered longer.

Perhaps.
